The Aosta Valley can also be discovered through its local traditional produce: the tastes and culinary traditions of an Alpine area.
It is a story made up of unique flavours, the inimitable fruits of a specific geographic location, of the quality of its source ingredients and of ancient production techniques. Products with a DOP (protected designation of origin) such as Fontina DOP cheese, Vallée d'Aoste Fromadzo DOP, Vallée d'Aoste Jambon de Bosses DOP, Vallée d’Aoste Lard d’Arnad DOP, to be savoured along with the DOC (controlled designation of origin) wines of the Aosta Valley. And then there are the cured meats, medicinal herbs, fruits, grappa and génépy.
